Ellington in the Park

About us

WELCOME TO ELLINGTON IN THE PARK

From the owners of The Ellington at 936 Amsterdam Ave., Ellington in the Park celebrates its grand opening in scenic Riverside Park.

Restaurateur Glenda Sansone opened The Ellington in 2013 after moving uptown from MacDougal Street in the West Village, where she ran popular hangouts Alibi and Slane for nearly a decade. In just two years of existence, Sansone’s new restaurant – located on Duke Ellington Boulevard/West 106th St. and named after the jazz legend with his family’s endorsement – has become an Upper West Side mainstay.

The new Ellington in the Park replaces the former Hudson Beach Café. When the sun sets over the Hudson River, the beach-themed restaurant becomes a trendy yet casual scene fueled by drinks, live music, big screen TVs, and fresh food by chef John Loughran of Banc Café. With delicious specialty cocktails, fine wines, a connoisseur’s assortment of liquor and everything in between, Ellington in the Park is a hidden treasure for those who are ready to make the most of summer and willing to venture out of the usual party spots. An eclectic buzz instills fond memories in all who experience NYC’s newest destination for relaxation.

The top-level bar of Ellington in the Park is made from a repurposed shipping container, and the lower level lounge area is adjacent to all sorts of outdoor fun including beach volleyball, soccer, and softball. Ellington in the Park will be open April through October, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Book your party now !!
